Keir Village Hall present the Solway Saxophone Quartet

UPDATE from the Keir Village Hall Group:
We am very sorry to say that the Solway Saxophone Quartet Concert, which was to be held in Keir Village Hall at 3pm on Sunday 3rd October, has had to be postponed due to illness within the Quartet. We hope to be able to arrange a new date for the concert to take place in the near future so please keep a lookout for the new date which will be posted on this site and on other social media.
Keir Village Hall are delighted to host the Solway Saxophone Quartet on Sunday 3rd October at 3pm. A full programme of music will include Jazz, Folk arrangements, popular classics and much more.
This experienced quartet consists of:
Soprano Saxophone - Justin Kent - Justin studied for a music degree specialising in jazz performance. Justin is in demand as a saxophonist throughout Cumbria, the south of Scotland and North East England in a variety of jazz ensembles and function bands.
Alto Saxophone - Jane Bagot - Jane recently retired as Head of Music at a Penrith Grammar School. Jane plays clarinet and saxaphone in various ensembles giving concerts in Cumbria, County Durham and South West Scotland. She also plays in the British Clarinet Ensemble who give concerts in Britain and Europe.
Tenor Saxophone - Stephen Bagot - Stephen plays clarinet, saxophone and bassoon in many ensembles and orchestras in the North as well as clarinet with the British Clarinet Ensemble. He is very keen on chamber music and arranges many concerts in the year for wind octets, piano sextets etc.
Baritone Saxaphone - Melanie Thorne - Melanie lives in Moniaive and teaches piano and woodwind. She also runs a small publishing company with her husband Andy, specialising in her own compositions and arrangements for woodwind and brass ensembles, which is sold throughout the UK and Europe and also the USA.
