Dumfries and Galloway Council announce changes to waste and recycling collection.

A new kerbside waste service, including new colour coded bins for recycling will be introduced to this area in the Spring/Summer 2021.
Two new bins will be delivered to households to be used for recycling, alongside our existing wheelie bins, that will be used for any non recyclable waste.
The new colour coded bins will be delivered to properties with a guidance leaflet on use and a collection calendar approximately 2-4 weeks before the service starts.
Bins with blue lids will be used for paper, card and cardboard and those with red lids will be used for plastics, metals and cartons. Collection will continue on a weekly basis, but will rotate to determine which bin will be emptied each week, with existing bins being emptied each fortnight and the new recycling bins emptied every four weeks.
